Ownership

CurtainCall Management (Pty) Ltd is the sole owner and publisher of The Creative Passport. The company operates within the Cultural and Creative Industries sector and is committed to supporting ethical media, artistic development and informed public discourse.

Editorial Leadership

The Creative Passport is founded and edited by Thamsanqa Mbongo, a professional actor, writer, director and arts administrator. He is a graduate of the University of Cape Town (2001) and has over two decades of experience in the Cultural and Creative Industries in South Africa.

The Editor is responsible for:

  • Editorial direction and content standards

  • Upholding ethical journalism principles

  • Ensuring compliance with editorial and complaints policies

  • Maintaining the independence and integrity of the publication

Editorial Independence

The Creative Passport maintains full editorial independence from its ownership. Editorial decisions are made without undue influence from political parties, government entities, advertisers, funders or any external interests. Ownership does not interfere with editorial judgment or content selection.

Governance and Accountability

The publication operates within a governance framework that prioritises accountability, transparency and ethical media practice. All contributors are required to adhere to the publication’s Editorial Policy, Code of Ethics and Complaints & Corrections procedures.

Any actual or potential conflicts of interest involving editorial staff or contributors must be declared. Where a conflict exists, appropriate steps are taken to manage or avoid it, including recusal from coverage where necessary.
